About The Blog
Hi, we are MSA’s Safety Squad—Jordan, Natalie, Rafael and Sophie - and we are college students from Pittsburgh, PA. This summer we are traveling across the United States teaching people how to stay safe while they perform Do-It-Yourself tasks around the house! Not only are we visiting various neighborhoods, we are also doing safety demonstrations at various Home Depot and Lowe’s Home Improvement stores. We will be using this Weblog to chronicle our journey, the people we meet and the stories we encounter. We’d also be glad to answer any safety questions you may have. Thanks for visiting!Pages

Hey group!!! That is very good blog, we are following you from Central America, we hope you are doing a great job, having everyone in sight concern about safety, and letting them know the good safety products you promote.
Keep up the Safety Bug rolling and visiting more and more places to make more people aware of safety.

I have a story to share about the use of proper safety glasses. They do work, but you have to wear the correct ones for the job! My fiancee works a company which is devoted to safety! He is very safety conscience at work and at home. He always wears his protective eyewear(unfortunately there was a time when he took them off for a split second. That is when the unfortunate event happened!) He was under our basement steps installing some shelving, using a nail gun. He had the necessary personal protective gear on, gloves, safetyglasses, etc. However, he decided to remove his glasses so that he could see better. (According to him, it was too dark under there. According to me, he shouldn’t have been wearing tinted glasses indoors!) In a split second, he removed his tinted safety glasses and then discharged the nail. The nail hit a knot in the wood, turned completely around, and with a great deal of force, proceded to came toward his eye, point first. That nail hit him square in the eyeball, punctured it and then fell out and onto the floor. He ended up at the eye center at Johns Hopkins. His eyeball was slowly deflating. If it wouldn’t have stopped leaking when it did, they would have had to stich the hole. Over a period of a week or so and some visits to Johns Hopkins, the eye finally stopped leaking. His was very lucky! He no longer has 20/20 vision but he still has his eye! He still wears his safety glasses for inside the home projects but they definitely aren’t tinted.
